Total Machining Solutions are an award-winning 5-axis CNC machining specialists, located in Chatham. TMS manufactures patterns, moulds, props, models and products for a multitude of industries : Formula One, motorsport, aerospace, automotive through to Film & TV.
TMS was established in 2010 and have since grown to 30 employees across four sites. Continually investing in staff skills, new technology and machinery, our highly skilled workforce maintain high standards and work with our customers to develop their products and our services.
TMS have recently opened an innovation centre, purchasing state of the art, Additive and Subtractive machinery, working to develop the future of materials and machining.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join TMS as a Model Maker.
Role Tasks and Responsibilities: The Model Maker role is to support the other workers within the workshop environment to ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing operations.
- Ensuring that all models, patterns, jigs & components are produced according to specifications provided
- Assisting with blocking up & gluing of materials
- Packaging and wrapping items for transport.
- Helping to ensure all areas of the workshop are clean and tidy
- Reporting any equipment or product defects when appropriate
- Assisting in other areas of the workshop when needed.
- Ensure they are fully aware of the company’s quality related goals and objectives and works to achieve them were needed.

- Experience of working in a workshop/manufacturing environment;
- Self-motivating and being able to work without constant supervision.

TMS use a variety of materials from Confor foam and HD polystyrene through to high density model boards. Thanks to our CNC machining experience, products are always engineered from the most suitable material. We hold stock of a variety of materials, so can often start machining the same day as an order is placed.
