Are you looking for something productive to do with your free time? Would you like to supplement your income doing something that benefits young people?
CSW Enterprise works in partnership with schools, colleges and businesses to support young people to access opportunities to create the workforce of tomorrow. An important part of this work is facilitating successful experiences of the workplace for school and college students on placements at employers across the South West.
We are currently looking to recruit three Workplace Experience Liaison Officers (WELOs) to help us in this important work. The role of a WELO is to arrange duty of care checks with employers and to help them provide a workplace experience that is appropriate, safe and productive for the young person concerned. WELOs discuss and assess the employer’s working environment and attitudes to health and safety to ensure a successful placement. WELOs also act as ambassadors of our business and identify opportunities for employers to engage with our range or programmes and services. We work with a range of schools and colleges across the South West and have a large employer network where the checks will be undertaken.
The WELO role is seasonal and hours will fluctuate according to demand. The busiest period is generally February to July.
Applicants are required to have the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) ‘Managing Safely’ qualification, or equivalent. A qualification in, or willingness to work towards a National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) qualification would be desirable.
Candidates should be customer focused, have excellent ICT and communication skills and the ability to manage their own work load and deadlines. Access to a car is essential to carry out this role. An understanding of workplace experience programmes would be desirable but not essential as full training is given.
The hourly rate of pay is £9.22, plus a payment for annual leave accrued. Reasonable travel and subsistence expenses are reimbursed.
