Design Engineer

If so then Glyndwr Innovations Ltd (GIL), a subsidiary of Wrexham University located at the OpTIC Technology Centre in St Asaph, has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will play an important part in our operations, working with our commercial customers to understand their requirements to create designs and technical documentation for complex optical systems including opto-mechanical and structural assemblies.
GIL is renowned for designing and manufacturing high-end optical components and systems for an international clientele. We are seeking candidates with engineering design experience within a specialist optical engineering environment.
As a Design Engineer, you will develop design solutions tailored to customer requirements and utilise finite element analysis to verify the structural and opto-mechanical integrity of these designs. You will participate in design problem-solving activities providing specialist expertise as and when required. Additionally, you will provide and communicate design review reports in accordance with internal procedures. High-level IT skills and experience with finite element analysis of structures are essential.
This role is both varied and challenging, requiring a highly self-motivated individual who can work flexibly and meet tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team. Exceptional communication and organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail, are crucial.
While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, it is not essential.
