
Driver / Waste Operative
Salary: £18,000 per year
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for two Driver/Waste Operative positions, with both weekend and Monday to Friday shift patterns available.
The successful candidate would be required to work 5 days a week including weekends totalling 25 Hours per week hours per week.
Normal shift pattern starts from 6:00am till 12:00pm although this may change depending on workload. Weekends typically start from 6:00am until 9:00 am.
The successful applicant will be required to hold a full clean UK driving licence for a vehicle up to 3.5 tonne, and have held their licence for 2 years or more (for insurance purposes).
The role will involve the following tasks:
- Work to daily job sheet.
- Carrying out daily checks to vehicle.
- Loading/unloading waste.
- Working to a time scale and visiting a number of different business uplifting waste & recycling material.
- Working in the warehouse with tasks such as cardboard bailing, recycling processing and general maintenance activities.
Successful candidate will preferably have a good knowledge of Glasgow and surrounding areas. Also some waste management experience would be preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
